Technology

Our investment in technology allows us to enhance your patient-centered dental experience from the first moment you step into our office in West Linn until the moment you leave. Using advanced data-management systems, we fast-track the check-in and checkout process, allowing you more time to relax before your appointment with one of our dentists. Then, whether you need routine x-rays or a complete restoration, we use top-of-the-line equipment to enhance comfort, ensure safety, and speed up the treatment process. Our state-of-the-art technology includes:

Intraoral Cameras: This is a highly advanced piece of diagnostic equipment that allows you and our general and cosmetic dentist Dr. Biria to clearly see inside your mouth. The handheld camera can zoom in on a specific tooth, and all of the images are displayed on a television screen so that you can be an active part of your treatment.

Digital Radiographs: This form of x-ray imaging uses electronic sensors instead of traditional film, transmitting images to a computer immediately. It is efficient, comfortable, and highly accurate, and it reduces the level of radiation the patient receives.

Patient Focused UHD Displays: No need to squint at a small monitor over your shoulder to see your digital x-rays or review your treatment plan. Huge 47" UHD screens offer you a detailed view of your oral health.

Cone Beam CT - 3D Imaging: The CBCT used by dental professionals is a computed tomography (CT) system. The machine rotates around the patient and captures data using a cone shaped x-ray beam. Dental CBCT images provide three-dimensional information, rather than the two-dimensional information provided by a conventional x-ray image. This may help with the diagnosis, treatment planning and evaluation of certain conditions.

The data is then used to reconstruct a three-dimensional image of the following regions of the patient’s anatomy: dental (teeth); oral and maxillofacial region (mouth, jaw, and neck); and ears, nose, and throat.

CBCT is increasingly used by dental professionals for various clinical applications including dental implant planning, visualization of abnormal teeth, evaluation of the jaws and face, cleft palate assessment, diagnosis of dental caries (cavities), endodontic (root canal) diagnosis, and diagnosis of dental trauma.

At West Linn Dental, we regularly upgrade our equipment because we know that advanced equipment ensures more accurate assessments, which means a better solution for your dental needs.
